The Global Warming Potential (GWP) is the index that represents the impact that a substance can have on the global greenhouse effect, indicative of the corresponding tonnes of CO 2 equivalent. It is a relative index, which compares the impact of 1kg of refrigerant with 1kg of CO 2 over 100 years. R32 has a lower GWP than R410A currently used in air conditioning systems.
